What is the relationship of the viewer to the subject matter. Are you visiting? Did you move here, or are these your people? Immersed in a culture that’s not my native culture, there are some beautiful things to behold. There is also a tension as the city gets flooded with outsiders, and some very real economic challenges to over come as the city changes.

Hard lines. Soft features. A sailor masculine, scribbled in pencil, wearing someone else’s eyes and lips borrowed from a a girl in a fashion magazine. This one’s about control and identity and in the human experience.
