Our subject is leaning forward hands on the sink engaged and concentrated on what’s in the mirror, typically this would be his reflection. The void we find in his looking glass suggests there is room for more than just a reflection. What is he seeing? The past? The future? What future self, what future life version? The piece was done on paper fastened to the canvas, the paper represents the flimsy reality of the human persona, ripped, wrinkled and all torn down tomorrow. The many under textures reflect life’s process, an interweaving of history, or past, as it relates to the current self.
