Potential, 2025
Our subject is leaning forward hands on the sink engaged and concentrated on what’s in the mirror, typically this would be his reflection. The void we find in his looking glass suggests there is room for more. What is he seeing? The past? The future? What future is he seeing, what future life version? The piece was done on paper fastened to the canvas, the paper represents the thin flimsy reality of the “self” here today, torn down and changed, ripped, wrinkled tomorrow. The many under textures reflect life’s process as it relates to self.

Hard lines. Soft features. A sailor masculine, scribbled in pencil, wearing someone else’s eyes and lips borrowed from a a girl in a fashion magazine. This one’s about control and identity and in the human experience.
Part of my, Elegance of Dissonance collection.
