Sell Out, 2025

This young man would identify as a punk. But here he stands on the cover of a fashion magazine with his shirt off and his pants cut, fully exposed. Where are his punk values? His shirt collar is cut to resemble that of a Chippendale dancer, his pants cut to “chaps”, he has been completely compromised and exploited but yet rewarded by a kiss. After years of working in fashion as a model, dressed up as a character I never truly aligned with, I often felt my “character” was exploited. In some ways this is a self portrait. But it does beg the question, is he letting him self be exploited, or growing past his ego?
