The Iron Woman, 2025

A symbol of the traditional “stay at home' mom, but her face tells a different story. Sarcastically happy she’s telling us she’s over it. The canvas has bumps that resemble rivets on an iron ship, it’s been a long road for women’s liberation, the bumps both represent the iron strength of the women that have been part of that journey, as well as the bumps still to “iron” out.

Acrylic, Graphite Pencil, and Charcoal on Canvas

150 cm x 200 cm

Hard lines. Soft features. A sailor masculine, scribbled in pencil, wearing someone else’s eyes and lips borrowed from a a girl in a fashion magazine. This one’s about control and identity and in the human experience.

Part of my, Elegance of Dissonance collection.
